Because "God uses their culture and their language to express who He is." -Sandra Richter. We as readers of Scripture must strive to learn the culture and language to appropriately learn about God. Furthermore, much of the Bible is history. So not only is God using their culture and language, but he is utilizing human history to touches our lives.
